Lighting a Gymnasium :
A gymnasium includes lighting for several training areas, given the wide range of apparatus used. As gymnastics includes many disciplines, each area must be perfectly and evenly lit so that gymnasts can train in a safe environment.
We often see three categories of activity in gymnasiums: International competitions, Regional competitions and Training. Each category requires a specific level of lighting, which we integrate into our photometric studies, according to how your gymnasium is used.
The Speqtris Sport range of fixtures for lighting gymnasiums :
The choice of lighting fixtures mainly depends on the structure of the gym but often includes :
Gymnasium illuminance :
For lighting gyms dedicated to gymnastics, three categories must be taken into account :
Horizontal illuminance uniformity factor :
To ensure good visual comfort and as few dark areas as possible, our reference uniformity factor is ≥0.7.
Dimensions of a gymnasium :
Gymnasiums vary in size from one complex to another, due in particular to the different levels of gymnastics performed.
The smallest gym size is 12m x 24m x 6/7m and the largest can be 58m x 32m x 8/9m.
