Properly lighting a gymnastics room is important for gymnasts. Indeed, gymnasts need good visibility and optimal visual comfort to be able to observe their surroundings while performing.
To achieve this, we will put all our expertise at your service for any gymnastics room lighting needs !
The benefit of LED lighting is that it saves on your electricity bill. Older metal halide floodlights are very energy-intensive and not immediately effective, meaning you have to wait a while before reaching maximum light output.
With LED floodlights, they turn on and off instantly at maximum power, allowing you to practice in the best conditions as quickly as possible.
Our Olympe LED floodlights are the ultimate versatile floodlights. They are found in many sports facilities such as gymnasiums and fitness centers.
To adapt to each gym, this range of floodlights is available in 4 different power ratings (100W, 200W, 300W, and 400W). This is complemented by its relatively powerful luminous flux of 160 lm/W.
To ensure that the entire area to be illuminated is evenly lit, this floodlight is equipped with adjustable modules and different light diffusion optics. This allows them to cover your entire gym.
You’ll easily achieve the desired level of illumination and uniformity, regardless of your installation.
At Speqtris Sport, the lifespan of an Olympe projector is calculated according to the L70, L80, or L90 standards.
It is also recommended to clean the projector optics from time to time, as dust can accumulate there and slightly disrupt the light output.
Lifespan | at 25°C | at 30°C | at 45°C |
L70 | 153 000h | 141 000h | 127 000h |
L80 | 100 000h | 92 000h | 83 000h |
L90 | 50 000h | 46 000h | 41 500h |
Gymnastics hall lighting includes several training areas, given the many facilities available. Because gymnastics encompasses a multitude of practices, each area must be perfectly and uniformly lit to allow gymnasts to perform in a space that matches the level of difficulty of their training.
We often see three categories of practice in gymnastics halls: International Competition, Regional Competition, and Training. Each category corresponds to a specific lighting level, which we adhere to during our photometric studies based on the levels practiced in your gym.
Categories | International | Regional | Training |
Lighting levels | 750 Lux | 500 Lux | 300 Lux |
Horizontal lighting uniformity factor :
To ensure good visual comfort and as few shadows as possible, we use a uniformity factor ≥ 0.7.
The dimensions of a gymnasium vary from one complex to another. These differences are mainly explained by the different levels of fitness offered.
The smallest possible size for a gymnasium is 12m x 24m x 6/7m, and the largest gyms can go up to 58m x 32m x 8/9m.
With over 13 years of field experience and projects, we’ve designed a range of lighting layouts and installations for each sport using our sports guide.
This tool will allow you to quickly find the photometric studies corresponding to your project and define and recommend the appropriate equipment for the desired lighting result.
